This week's blog is a current event. The event that took place left the whole state of Alabama in total shock! A little boy was kidnapped from his school bus early last week in Midland, Alabama. The school bus driver, who tried to save the children's lives, was shot and killed by the kidnapper. The little boy was held in a small underground bunker for almost one full week. Thankfully, the little boy was rescued yesterday by the authorities. The kidnapper was killed while the boy was rushed out of harms way!

As teachers, we should use current events like these in our classroom. The safety of our students should always be our number one priority! We should always go over safety measures with our students! Our students need to know the importance of safety! They need to know what to do if they are confronted with an unsafe situation no matter where it takes place. We need to teach them what to do if the situation is on a school bus, in the classroom or even at home.
I agree!! It's a crazy, crazy world and you have to be prepared for anything that goes on!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the current event. I did not know this happen. I remember when I was in elementary school, my teachers were always talking about safety and giving us activities to take home and work with our parents. Now teachers do not even discuss safety measures unless something terrible happens and then it is too late, well it is never too late, but I feel teachers should always talk to their students about safety instead of when a terrible event happens. Students, teachers, and the staff should always be prepared.
